Freezers

Freezers designed for the low-temperature storage of plasma and other blood products. These freezers provide optimal conditions for the low-temperature (-40°C) storage of frozen blood plasma (Silver-graded freezers up to –35°C, Gold-graded ones up to –40°C), and have gross capacities of 108 to 578 litres.

Ultra Cold Freezers

These ultra cold freezers allow hospitals, laboratories and universities to store biological material such as blood plasma or cell samples. The freezing system operates with 2 cascaded compressors and is used specifically for low-temperature freezing. These compressors are cooled by air directed across the condenser to provide extremely rapid freezing while keeping sufficient power reserves. A special dust guard grille protects the components of the cooling unit.

The storage of blood is subject to very stringent requirements. Dometic Blood Refrigerators conserve blood in accordance with DIN 58371. Blood is perfectly preserved at a temperature of +4°C (+/- 1.5 K). Our refrigerators offer optimal conditions for preserving blood and blood products, and conform to all norms and guidelines concerning blood. All blood refrigerators comply with the Gold safety standard.

Made of rotomoulded polyethylene, a virtually indestructible plastic, the special transport containers offer excellent mechanical resistance, as proven by drop tests, and are not subject to corrosion. The CFC- and HCFC-free polyurethane foam injected between the double walls of these containers ensures perfect insulation of the contents and thus preservation of the quality of the products even over long periods of transport. Even when used without icepacks, these containers do not affect the ambient temperature. Designed for intensive use, with frequent handling in difficult climatic conditions.

Equipment for the storage and transport of blood and blood components

The transport boxes are specially designed to meet the requirements of field conditions for military tasks as well as for civil aid organizations for the transport of temperature-sensitive supplies such as blood and blood products, vaccines, plasma, blood samples and pharmaceutical products.

The icepacks the boxes require as their source of refrigeration are frozen in a supplementary device specially designed for this purpose. Made of rotomoulded polyethylene, the transport boxes offer excellent mechanical resistance, as proven by drop tests, and are not subject to corrosion.

They are perfectly suited to intensive use, with frequent handling under difficult climatic conditions. The polyurethane foam injected between the double walls of these boxes ensures perfect insulation and thus preservation of the quality of blood, blood products and pharmaceutical products even over long periods of transport.

Used with frozen icepacks or also wet ice for some versions, they are fully self-sufficient with respect to the ambient environment and therefore ideal for transport stages.
